For more than 20 years, Chef Ronald A DeLuca Jr. has developed, designed, owned and operated several critically acclaimed bars and restaurants in the Pittsburgh region. A true local, Chef Deluca was raised in the North Hills area and attended the University of Pittsburgh. After college, he purchased his first bar & grill at the age of 23, where he learned to hone his skills for the next eight years. When the moment was right to move on, Chef Deluca opened the well-renowned BLUE, award winning PANGEA, and UP Modern Kitchen. His culinary talents are refined and display sophistication through the art of fine cuisine, though his true passion resides in pleasing his guests with fresh, satisfying comfort food.
Stepping away from fine dining and the high-end restaurant scene, Chef DeLuca spent half a year in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Focusing his attention back to the basics, he opened a specialty taco & hot dog restaurant. Amidst this rustic and relaxed environment came the inspiration for BARREL JUNCTION – a restaurant offering 22 of the best craft beers from our region and across the country, as well as quality food at reasonable prices. Having already achieved much success, recognition, and support, Chef DeLuca has created a comfortable space where the aroma of house smoked meats welcomes you at the door.
